Introduction
Genealogy is the study of the history of past and present members of a family. However, a
distinction could be drawn between genealogy, as the pursuit of ancestry, and family history.
'Family historians are keen to move beyond the constraints of mere pedigree-making and to arrive
at an understanding of their ancestors within the broader context of time and place' (John Titford,
1997).

This web site is a summary of my own family history, which I have been researching since 1984.
Its aim is to provide a source of information to family members who wish to know more about
their descent. In addition, it is hoped that others may be able to use the material for their own
research.

All persons living have been omitted.
